Electrical Panel Access

This course is for personnel who need to enter control panels and have the responsibility for resetting breakers, trips, overloads etc.

Description

By the end of the course delegates will have the confidence to enter a control panel safely, understand the hazards and associated risks, identify panel components and be able to undertake resets safely.

 

The Programme Will Cover:

  • Electrical safety - hazards and risks associated with electricity
  • Applicable Health and Safety legislation - legal compliance
  • Safe isolation, Lock Off and Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
  • Understanding limitations and restrictions of panel access
  • Understanding the different voltages present in control panels (power and control)
  • Identification and functionality of control panel components
  • The potential causes of overcurrent and short circuits
  • Practical resetting/replacing of electrical safety devices
  • Dynamic risk assessment
  • Completion of recording documents
